ÒThe Fat ones are so helpless.Ó
The Lifeguard sez to me,
ÒIÕve rescued fifty wimmin
From drowninÕ in the sea.
ÒThe last one wuz a whopper,--
And almost pulled me down--
Before I get her safe ashore
I thought we both would drown.
ÒWhen at last I got her landed,
And finally looked and saw
The lady I had rescued,
Wuz my own fat mother-in-law.
ÒOh, LifeÕs so full of ironies
Which weigh a Lifeguard down,
I think IÕll save the slim ones,
And let the fat ones drown.Ó
